I thought that this would be a really fun first blog post. I got the idea from Hibiscus Moon,
(my crystal therapy teacher). She was tagged first and invited others to participate, so I figured WHY NOT?! So thank you Hibiscus Moon, this is exactly what I was looking for, because this is actually a good way for those of you who don't know me to GET to know me. So here it goes...
1. Share your first paranormal experience that comes to mind...
I never experienced anything too freaky. As far as paranormal, the most notable experience was right after my father passed, he decided to let his presence be known to me when no one else was around in the house. I was in the kitchen alone washing dishes, and behind me the ice dispenser on the refrigerator loudly dispensed an ice cube onto the floor on it's own...or rather, not on it's own! I turned around and just stared at the ice cube on the kitchen floor...asking myself if that really happened? Then I just smiled to myself and acknowledged my father at that moment...I felt his presence and I knew that it was him saying hello. He continues to pay me visits by making his presence known in the form of a bird. He used to always feed the birds!
2. Have you ever had a premonition?
I remember one time I was on the highway driving to the doctor, and I was feeling very nervous and uneasy for no apparent reason. As I was driving, a fire truck decided to pass in front of me and for the rest of my trip that fire truck, with it's blaring sirens, was travelling the same exact path I was...right to the doctor's office. Turns out they were responding to an emergency with a car whose driver drove straight into a house around the corner from my doctor. There I was, staring at this car that drove right through the front door of this house. The whole thing was freaky! So I may not have actually SEEN a future event take place, but I have FELT it empathically. I also remember a good friend of mine suddenly popped up into my head one day, and I decided to text her at that moment and asked her if she was in the neighborhood. She actually lives about a half hour away from me. She texted me back and said that she was at her parent's house, in the same neighborhood as me...and she asked, "How did you know I was here?!" I love synchronicity!
3. When did you get your first tarot/oracle deck? And what deck was it?
I got my first deck around fifteen years ago. It was the Doreen Virtue "Healing with the Angels" oracle cards. That was the time when I first decided to delve into the idea of reading cards, but I had an affinity for the angels way before then...I just didn't know why. It was a nice easy deck of cards to begin with, as each card only has one word answers on it. Since then, I have acquired so many decks of oracle cards, some of my favorites include Healing with the Fairies, Messages from the Angels, Archangel Michael, Mermaids and Dolphins, the Energy Oracle, and the Angel Tarot.
4. What element do you connect with the most? Earth, water, fire, or air?
I love the Earth, always have. The flowers and the trees that bring beauty by coloring our landscapes, and the animals that inhabit the Earth. Half of my childhood was spent in upstate NY during the summer months, where most of my time was spent outdoors. I would go wandering through the woods by myself picking up leaves, looking under rocks for salamanders and frogs. We had small creeks that would run through our property that I would play by, gathering pretty river rocks (what a surprise)! As I grew older, I lost touch with this part of my life because my visits grew more sporadic and I now spend most of my time in the city. Now I tend to seek out the ocean whenever I can, because it's closer to where I live than travelling to the mountains. I love hearing the sound of the waves and the smell of the salt water, and the sand under my feet (earth again!).
5. Do you believe in fairies?
I've always LOVED the idea of fairies, but I tend to believe fairies as being a group of Angels that are given the job to oversee nature and the animals that inhabit the Earth. Humans are not the only living beings that are protected on this planet, so yes, I do believe that there are some type of elemental beings that serve this purpose.
6. Do you prefer the moon or the sun?
Definitely the sun! I love the warmth of it and just the feel good energy that you receive from it. Summer is my favorite time of the year, as living in the northeast our winters can be long and bitterly cold, which I DO NOT enjoy. I will eventually move to a more warmer part of the states. I do love the moon too, but my connection is stronger with the sun.
7. What is your favorite crystal or stone?
Amethyst! Always has been, and most likely always will be. Being an Aquarian, it is traditionally known as my birthstone. Besides it being my birthstone, there are so many other reasons that make it my favorite. It's an all around great stone which can be used for enhancing psychic ability and opening up the third eye chakra. It is a go-to stone for developing one's intuition. It's also known as a stone of protection and can assist in clearing negative energies and in sealing up holes in one's aura. It's also been known as the stone of sobriety, where it can help one in battling addictions and in releasing addictive relationships. It is also a great stress reliever. Whenever I have a headache, I grab my amethyst! A very close second favorite would be Selenite (pictured below). This beauty of a stone invokes angelic protection and is one of those perfect choices for dispelling negative energies in your home and the etheric body.
8. Can you see spirits and spiritual beings?
Do I get 'visits' from spiritual entities and such? No...but I HAVE had rare instances of catching SOMETHING appear in my peripheral vision. Then again, this is not part of my practice. I tend to focus on and work mainly with the angelic realm. I do think that having the gift of mediumship is quite extraordinary, yet that is not one of my gifts.
9. Would you like to be able to control fire, fly on a broomstick, breathe under water or make things grow fast?
I suppose being able to breathe under water would be pretty amazing right? That sounds like it could be really helpful too. You would never have to worry about drowning, or have to be hooked up to an oxygen tank if you were to go scuba diving! As for the others...flying on a broomstick is just an uncomfortable idea! If I wanted to fly I would want to be able to fly like a bird or Superman! I don't play with fire...and I think making things grow fast is a sad concept actually. Why rush things? Think about it...as a woman I certainly don't like the idea of aging, although I embrace it every step of the way, I certainly wouldn't want to put things in high gear!
10. What is the animal totem that you feel most connected to?
I would have to say the owl. They are one of those animals that blend into their surroundings, and when you see one of them it's an A-HA moment. And I also love how they can spin their heads around to see what's behind them! I find my personality to be like the owl...intuitive, observant, and quiet. If you would like to read more about the owl animal totem you can go here. You can also take a fun little personality quiz to find out your own animal totem!
11. Tell us about your first spirit guide?
I can say that I know that I have more than one, and that my father is one of them. Ever since the ice cube incident I knew that he would be with me always. There have been so many things happen in my life to help me move forward on my path since he has passed, and I know that he is guiding me along. I have also experienced another male guide which has passed on messages to me in the past through my dreams, and I have been told that my grandmother is also with me.
12. Do you feel more connected to the stars or the earth?
Since I have a passion for both the stars, the moon, and astrology AND the Earth with her beautiful gifts of the ocean, the animals, and of course...crystals, it's hard to choose. So, I will have to just go with the Earth, and this is because it just resonates with me since childhood.
13. What is your preferred method of blessing or cleansing?
I will say that my preferred method of blessing will always be prayer. Calling in God to bless anything and everything just works for me! For cleansing I usually will call in Archangel Michael to clear all negative energies, whether it's for me personally, for my crystals or my oracle cards, or for my own home. My second go-to method for this would be a sage smudge with the windows open wide, or diffusing some frankincense in my oil burner.
14. What color do you feel most spiritually connected to?
White is my top pick here. It's just an all around color symbolic of peace, purity, love, and spiritual connection. I love white! I wear it all the time. My next color pic would be turquoise blue like in my Larimar pendant I'm wearing above.
Now it's your turn! I would LOVE to get to know you! If you would like to participate, then just comment below with a link to your answers!
